Hydrogenation of Aromatic Compounds: Stereochemistry

Similar to the hydrogenation of alkenes and alkynes, hydrogen is being transferred to the same side of the π system. During the hydrogenation of benzene derivatives, all 6 H atoms are being transferred very often to the same side of the ring.
