## Ozonolysis of Alkenes Followed by Reduction: Reductive Cleavage

The secondary ozonide is usually cleaved under reducing conditions in order to produce the appropriate aldehydes or ketones and to prevent subsequent oxidation of the products by the generated $H2O2$ . Three of the most widely used methods are shown in Figure 2.
