Introduction to Oil

Oil enters the marine environment through a number of different sources. The most obvious one is oil pollution from tanker accidents which attract great public attention. However this is one of the minor routes by which petroleum hydrocarbons reach the sea. This learning unit addresses the sources and inputs of oil into the marine environment and its physical and chemical reactions.
