Adobe Flash is a software which is used to enhance web pages by adding animations, sound
and interactive elements. Flash animations are vector-based graphics. The so-called Flash Player, which is available for all major
operating systems, is required to display Flash applications.
It is included in some of the newer web browsers or can be installed easily.
Adobe Flash Player Test
The correct installation of the Flash Player can be tested using an animation on close sphere packing
(Source: 41796):
If the plugin is installed correctly, three layers of spheres should appear on the left side. After clicking the "play" button,
they should assemble to form both the cubic and the hexagonal close packing. If this is the case, the Flash Player
is installed correctly on your system and you can go on to the Java test page.
If the animation is not displayed on your computer, you have to install the Flash Player.
Adobe Flash-Video Test
The correct playback of Adobe Flash-Videos is tested using a movie on the detection of alcohol in exhaled air.
(Source: 20838):
After clicking the "play" button, you should see the video the detection of alcohol in exhaled air. If this is the case, the Flash Player
is installed correctly on your system and you can go on to the Java test page.
If the movie is not displayed on your computer, you have to install a newer version of the Flash Player. The following chapter will show you
how to do that.
