# sp hybridizationZoomA-Z

## Subject - General Chemistry

The combination of one s orbital and one p orbital leads to two equivalent orbitals which are oriented along an imaginary line forming an angle of 180°. This process is called hybridization. The resulting orbitals are called $sp$ hybrid orbitals and possess 1/2 s and 1/2 p character.
