Subject - General Chemistry

Orbitals are wave functions, one-electron functions, eigenfunctions of eigenvalue problems (e.g. of the Schroedinger equation) that describe the spatial behavior of an electron in three-dimensional space. They don't have any physical relevance, they can have positive or negative values in different spaces, but, in principle, they can also be very complex.
