electrophilic reactionZoomA-Z

Subject - Organic Chemistry

In electrophilic reactions, an electrophilic (electron loving) part attacks a substrate with high electron density, e.g. the π system of an aromatic compound. Electrophilic species are, for example, positively charged ions such as carbenium ions. Depending on the thermodynamic stability of the final product, the reaction can proceed either as a substitution or an addition.
